Please read all Terms and Conditions carefully and before you complete your order as they contain essential
1. Application of Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all customers of Hornsey Steels LTD. By placing an order, it is assumed that you
have read and agreed to all terms and conditions.
2. Diagrams, Drawings and Dimensions
2.1 Any diagrams, wire drawings or illustrations supplied by Hornsey Steels LTD, should only be used as a guide.
2.2 All diagrams, wire drawings and illustrations have been designed for, and belong to Hornsey Steels LTD
3. Quotations and Pricing
3.1 Quotations are valid for 30 days subject to stock and availability
3.2 Internet orders are subject to acceptance and availability confirmed by Hornsey Steels LTD
3.3 All Quotes/Prices EXCLUDE V.A.T unless otherwise stated or requested by the customer
3.4 Hornsey Steels LTD reserve the right to modify quotations accordingly to suit goods required
3.5 Prices and quotations are given at Hornsey Steel LTD’s discretion
3.6 Price Lists may vary and change due to the fluctuating nature of the Steel Manufacturing Industry
3.7 Hornsey Steels LTD are not obliged to give customer loyalty or quantity discounts or similar
4.1 Full payment of goods must be made at the stage of ordering unless otherwise agreed with a member or the
4.2 In the event of a delinquent payment, we reserve the right to charge interest at the rate equivalent to that set in
Section 6 of The Late Payment or Commercial Debts Intertest Act 1998
4.3 Under no circumstance are goods are to be taken without Payment or Payment method confirmed
4.4 Hornsey Steels LTD do not offer any form of Payment plans, part payments or finance for goods unless you are a
Hornsey Steels LTD Account Holder.
4.5 Hornsey Steels LTD do not / will not sell / distribute any of the customers personal or payment information onto
any third party. We are licenced under the I.C.O. Data Protection service licence number ZA271090.
5. Cancellation / Alterations to orders
5.1 All cancellations and alterations must be made prior to the manufacturing of the goods. Once the goods are in
the process of being made, we are unable to amend or cancel them.
5.2 In the case where a customer wants to cancel/amend an order and the goods have already been made, the
customer will be liable to pay for the goods.
5.3 Should a customer require to add to their order, we cannot guarantee that the additional goods will be ready to
collect/deliver at the same time as the original order.
5.4 We reserve the right to cancel an order if we have insufficient stock, we do not deliver to your area and one or
more of the goods are listed at the wrong price.
6. Delivery Terms and Conditions
6.1 We apply cover sheets onto packs where possible but we cannot guarantee that (especially polyester coated)
products will be 100% scratch free on delivery.
6.2 Delivery charges depend on your location and not by quantity ordered
6.3 We aim to deliver products as soon as possible which will be around 7-10 days for England/Wales and 14-21 for
6.4 Customers will be notified the day before delivery to confirm a morning or afternoon delivery slot
6.5 We do our best to work with our customers’ requirements and preference but we cannot guarantee delivery on
specific dates requested by the customer
6.6 On very large or long distance orders, we may require external haulage which will be covered at the customer’s
6.7 It is imperative, and the customer’s responsibility to provide us with correct details and with access information
where necessary (E.g. weight/length/height restrictions to roads and bridges). If we are unable to deliver goods due
in inadequate information and a second attempt is required, this will covered at the customer’s expense.
6.8 It is the customer’s responsibility to arrange for safe unloading of the goods. The customer or someone on behalf
of the customer must be present to unload, check goods and sign paperwork.
6.9 On delivery, the customer or relevant person must check the goods carefully and sign the delivery note once
satisfied. Once the goods have been signed for, Hornsey Steels LTD are not obliged to exchange, refund or replace
6.10 If any damage is apparent on delivery, please notify the driver or contact Hornsey Steels LTD’s office
6.11 Responsibility of damage or loss of goods is the customer’s responsibility once the products have been signed
6.12 Where a customer/relevant person is not available to accept or sign the goods, the driver will leave the goods in
a safe place. By a person not being present to sign/accept goods – it is assumed that you accept for the goods to be
left in a safe pace. The driver will take a photo of the goods, left in a safe place for our records, to show completion
of the delivery and confirm the condition of the goods (any loss or damage to goods, past this stage will be the

7. Product Returns and exchanges
7.1 We expect our products to meet the high standards of our customers every time but in the event where a
customer is un-satisfied with their product the office staff of Hornsey Steels LTD must be made aware of this as soon
as possible and correct product/purchase/invoice information and explanation must be given.
7.2 Once goods have been signed for, Hornsey Steels LTD are not obliged to exchange, refund or replace products
7.3 Hornsey Steels LTD cannot refund a customer or replace a product if the incorrect item has been ordered by the

8. Collections from Hornsey Steels LTD
8.1 We do our best to make all “collection orders” within 2, full working days
8.2 Any amendments to a sales order may lengthen the time taken to manufacture the goods
8.3 Hornsey Steels LTD will contact the customer once the goods have been manufactured
8.4 All customers collecting from the site understand that The Yard is a working and dangerous environment
8.5 On a customer’s arrival to the yard, they will be seen to as soon as possible but it may be required for the
customer to wait until a member of staff is free
8.6 It is the customer’s responsibility to supply their own straps and strap up their own loads
9. Storage of Materials and Goods
9.1 All goods and materials supplied by Hornsey Steels LTD are stored on site, under the supplier’s instructions.
9.2 We will advise customers to the best of our ability on guidance of the storage of their goods but Hornsey Steels
LTD will not be liable for any loss or damage on the goods stored by the customer.
10.1 Hornsey Steels LTD will not be responsible for damage, injury or death caused by incorrect/poor transportation,
handling, installation or similar with the goods supplied.
10.2 Hornsey Steels LTD will not be responsible for any consequential loss, loss of financial profits and damage to
equipment, site or property.
11. Hornsey Steels LTD Site Rules and Terms
11.1 All persons who enter The Yard of Hornsey Steels LTD accept and understand that the yard is a busy, working
and dangerous environment
11.2 All persons who park their vehicles in the yard, do so at their own risk
11.3 There is a zero tolerance for carelessness and abusive behaviour in the yard. Any persons in the yard deemed to
be a distraction or a danger to themselves or other people will be asked to leave.
11.4 No children under the age of 16 or animals are to be unaccompanied in the yard, they must remain safe in

12. General Terms and Conditions
12.1 All rights (including copyright) on our website and brochures are owned by/or licensed to Hornsey Steels Ltd.
Any use of our content (including copying or storing it) other than for your own personal, non-commercial use, is
prohibited without permission via a written notice
12.2 We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time
12.3 Hornsey Steels Ltd as steel manufacturers are fully in compliance with EU Legislation Laws. All Goods and
Components produced by Hornsey Steels Ltd are CE marked. From July 1st 2013, all profiled steel sheeting supplied
in the UK has to be CE Marked. In Compliance with Regulation 305/2011/EU of the European Parliament ad of the
Council of 9 March 2011 (The Construction Products Regulation or CPR), this certificate applies to the construction
product; Structural Steel Components.
